I need some help in an employment gap.

UPDATE: I started another new job this week, one that I actually want. There's going to be a significant gap between last paycheck and first paycheck, and with Hyp's unexpected passing am back to completely underwater financially. Unemployment appeal is still in process, but in the meantime I need about $1000 to make it until my income levels out.

Hey y'all. I lost my job in April, and have been denied unemployment. I'm in the process of appealing it, but they're saying it will take at least 6 weeks. I accepted a job today, and it does not start until the end of the month (and am going to keep looking, if you have good leads). I'm through my savings, and my checking account is down to double digits. To cover rent, bills and food until this job starts I need to come up with about $1500. I hate to ask for help in a time when it seems like everyone is struggling, but I am completely out of other options, and things are pretty dire.
