We are finally waiting to adopt!!!
Hello,
Very few know our story and how we have been called to adopt, so here it goes. Jon and I were both born and raised in Missouri, and even attended the same High School. We met ten years ago when we both worked at a local movie theater. We started dating soon after we met and after just two short years of dating Jon proposed. We were married less than a year later on August 1st, 2009. Two years after that, we had our first and only child, Ira, a joyous and happy little red headed boy. After Ira, we tried to have more children, but after 6 lost pregnancies, one near death emergency room visit, and Kara losing our last baby, left ovary, and fallopian tube on the operating table, it became quite clear God had something else planned for our family. We shortly moved on to the next chapter of our lives: fostering.
Fostering was a roller coaster of emotions and yet it was the most rewarding thing either of us have ever experienced. Throughout the past two years, we have looked after four wonderful children through the foster care system, allowing our son Ira to have the chance to be an awesome big brother for an all too short time. We loved all the children that entered our home and cared for them as if they were our own. Whether it was returning home, being placed with distant family, or being moved due to State decisions, saying goodbye to the children we had grown to love so deeply became increasingly difficult with each goodbye, for not only us but for our young son Ira. After our last foster child who we raised for the first two years of his life left our home, the child we longed so desperately to adopt, we decided to end our journey as a foster family and begin our journey into adoption. We hope adoption will help us grow our family and to have the emotional stability our family is longing for.
We are extremely excited to start this new chapter in our lives, for the journey to grow our family has already been an emotional ride. We want it to be known that we yearn to provide a home and loving family to a much wanted child regardless of his or her race or ethnicity, and we hope you will become as excited about this journey as we are.
Our home study and extensive paperwork is completed. We even finished our adoption profile books, which have been printed and shipped off to our agency (Bringing Famililes Together), to allow prospective birth parents to peek into our little family life to better assist their brave and selfless decisions.
And now we wait...we wait for the call of a much anticipated match.
While we wait, we humbly welcome any donations you are willing to make, and for you to simply share our story with others. With adoptions today ranging between 25,000 and 40,000 we hope through your kind gifts we will raise the money we need, to fund our adoption to bring our little miracle home. Every penny will be used to help a child in need of a loving family and home.
