Needing Help During Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Alicia. I am married with 2 growing teenagers. I've been a cosmetologist for almost 15 years. It has been a career that I have loved so much. I have truly enjoyed the people I have met. I love helping people become better images of the person they want to be, and I have loved being the person that many can vent to when they are having a tough time. But not only have I loved all that I do for people, but I have been blessed in my life to have many people that have helped me through some very tough times in my own life. So many trials have been thrown at me the last few years and now I have learned another is coming my way.
Being a cosmetologist, physically, your body starts to wear down. I have been struggling with carpal tunnel for a few years, but I was trying very hard to do what I could to postpone surgery until my kids were grown and our financial situation has improved. After visiting with my doctor, I am out of time. If I chose to wait much longer, it could potentially result in permanent nerve damage in my dominant hand, and the career that I love, and am not ready to give up yet, would come to an end.
At this time in my life, my husband and I have been struggling financially, and it has been difficult some months to make ends meet. I have been working as much as I possibly can, but being able to save enough for potentially 6 weeks of recovery, it is a very difficult thing at this time.
I am not the type of person to ask for help. It's easier for me to be a giver, but I am asking for help now.
I'm asking for help so that I can have this surgery, recover and still be able to pay bills, buy groceries and all the other expenses for basic living.
I will forever be grateful for any and all help.
Thank you.
