Neel's campaign for Children International
Tax deductible
I am Neel Kumar and 11 years old. At the age of 6 I started learning about computers at home. In fact at that age I was being instructed like a computer, do-this, don't-do-that, do this 5 times, if you do this and you will get that. Later I found out that this is how you have to think about programming as well! I realized that knowingly, or unknowingly, we do lots of things which involve breaking problems into a set of smaller problems and then solving those problems as a set of well defined instructions. This is what computer programming is, well at least to begin with! Currently, I like tinkering with Lego Mindstorms, 3D printing, Raspberry Pi, and AI.
Over time I started an YouTube channel and starting posting variety of videos. I posted my projects on GitHub as well. Later on I took The Python Mega Course on Udemy and then the Algorithms course on Coursera. It is interesting that when I finished the Algorithms course in Coursera, I was not allowed to get the certificate since I was younger than the minimum age. It was a bummer, isn't learning for all ages? I decided to create a programming course to make it available to people around the world. Now the next bummer, I choose Udemy as the platform to create the course, but again I am younger than the minimum age to be a teacher!
In addition to reaching people worldwide, I want to help children around the world to get an education and get a chance to step out of poverty. I decided to do two things, 1) make my videos and publish on YouTube and 2) raise money for Children International using this course. Children International is a great organization that aligns with my thinking. Effortless Java is completely free of charge, but all the proceeds go to this organization. BTW, I do one-on-one tutoring for coding as well. Please donate as much as you can to help this great cause, even a little goes a long way!
Thank you.
