Neighbor Got My Car Impounded

Donation protected
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT! I honestly didn't expect to reach the goal and was ecstatic when I hit $100. I'm tearing up and want to thank each and every one of you. So does my partner he is blown away by the kindness you strangers have show us. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hopefully by Tuesday we can get the car out and donated for parts.

Howdy, I go by Ally and boy do I have a tale to tell. The red car you see in the cover picture is my beast of burden. It doesn't like to start 90% of the time without a jump and has a problem with the power steering we can't figure out. With the car being this way I use it to go to my medical appointments once or twice a month or the occasional shopping trip I can't use the bus for.

Now for me, I am just shy of being disabled I haven't had a job since 2019. I use a walker to get around. And I am just too dam stubborn to admit im disabled to apply for the blue placard for the car. My partner pays the rent we scrape by with food and I make a bit of extra with odds and ends crafts and art.

THE NEIGHBORS COMPLAINT!
Three times this has happened. A not so kind neighbor took offense to my car not moving from the same spot or in reality I go to get groceries and come back to park in the same street parking spot in front of the apartment complex as not much is going on at 1 pm traffic wise. They report my car is abandoned and we get this bright orange tag under the windshield saying to move the car. We normally see this and move it no big deal. Well, this time my neighbors timed it just right to report it as I just got home from an appointment so I wouldn't check on the car for a few days. My car was then towed and impounded. I think its stolen come to find it at an impound lot.

The gals at the impound lot were super nice and let me get my things from my car even had a guy move cars out of the way so I didn't have to struggle to get to the beast. Noticed a small white piece of paper folded under the windshield wiper. Someone not naming names folded the bright orange notice to move the car to be unnoticeable from a distance.

Here is my problem I can't afford the $500-$700 to get it out of impound. even If I get it out it's just going to happen again and it is on its last breath of life as a running car. My options are to let in become abandoned after 21 days and face a rough bill of $1300 bill and they will auction it and deduct what they get. Or I can pay my fee and have a Pic-N-Pull retrieve it for parts. I called them and they will buy it for $50 ish. We scrape by just enough to break even and were trying to save up for a new car. Anything over the $700 goal will be set
aside into the $20,000 we're trying to get for a used car that is less of an eye sore so hopefully the neighbor will quit reporting it.

Thank you for even reading this far. If you choose to donate even a few dollars you will be helping me out immensely in my time of need.

EDIT: We reached the goal and that's crazy. I'll be closing this Wednesday or Thursday. I moved the goal to a random amount. Other than the few last donations im waiting for the emergency funding is covered. That being said I won't say no to a friendly soul willing to toss a few dollars my way to tuck aside and get me that much closer to getting a car that actually runs and hopefully won't be reported.
