NEIGHBORS UNITE FOR "SWEET-PEA"
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Sadye Willard, a resident of the White Oak Hills area of Decatur with my husband Tim. We have had the pleasure of knowing the kindness of Ken Proctor for many years now, as we came to know him through us reaching out for help ( and Ken stepping up) for a stray dog we found in our neighborhood. Years later and MANY dogs later, we continue to see Ken step up for dumped/abandoned dogs in need. He goes above and beyond to get them medical care, even in the hardest cases such as Sweet Pea, and then into a loving home. Ken always helps and never asks for help himself, so I decided to start this GoFundMe to offer anyone who might want to help him help Sweet Pea the opportunity to do so. INVOICES OF VET BILLS ARE POSTED HERE FOR REFERENCE!
Pasted below is her story that Ken shared on NextDoor, for anyone to read up. She was found dumped in a park and reportedly had been seen there for days. After her rescue, a life-saving emergency surgery for a very serious condition, "Pyometra", was performed and she is now recovering. ALL contributions made will go toward her emergency vet bill accrued at Village Vets. PLEASE SHARE HER FAR AND WIDE AS SHE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME ONCE HEALED!!!!
HER STORY:
Found abandoned in the park, Ken and William stepped up to help Sweet Pea. By the looks of her, they assumed she was pregnant, so Ken went straight to Village Vets. There she was diagnosed with Pyometra....an infection that caused her uterus to fill with bloody fluid. She would have died, but Village Vets did emergency surgery on her that afternoon. She is going to be fine and I will find her a home that will love her. You clearly bred her. She had puppies recently. I hope they are all ok. You should never have another dog. Really appreciate William catching her. I hope he sees this posting, will know she is OK and that he helped save her life.
