Neil's 107 mile ultra to help Special Olympics
Donation protected
On Friday 18th September i will set out running from Belfast to Dublin, a total of 107 miles (172km) with a bunch of other runners in an event organised by Atlas Running.
I'm hoping to raise money for Special Olympics Ireland, a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability, transforming their lives through sport. Their motto being "Let me win, but if i cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt".
I have volunteered with SOI on numerous occasions, would highly recommend it to everyone. I'll leave this with a quote from a man called David Plunkett, "I think everyone should volunteer for the Special Olympics because if you give an athlete one minute of your time , they'll give you their heart".
Also, if i reach my fundraising target I will shave off the beard I've been growing for almost 2 years!
