My power soccer wheelchair
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Neil and I am raising funds for a Strike Force wheelchair. This chair will allow me to play power soccer at a competitive level.
The base price of the chair is $7,800 and it will cost an additional $4,300 to customize it for my specific needs. Therefore, I am looking to raise a total of $12,000.

I am affected with a genetic condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This affects all the muscles in my body and causes them to become weaker over time.
Currently, I am not able to walk and depend on my parents for every aspect of my care. However, there is one thing I can do all by myself...play power soccer! When I'm on the court, I do not need anyone's assistance and operate 100% independently! There are no words to describe how this feels.
I love playing power soccer because it gives me independence and at the same time teaches me to be part of a team and the importance of teamwork. Although my school is supportive and aims to be inclusive, power soccer is the only platform which truly allows me to be among peers.
I've been playing power soccer for the past two years with The Houston Fireballs. During this time, I've learned the basics of the sport and developed a few skills. However, I've reached a plateau. My current chair is not allowing me to live up to my full potential. This is why I would like a Strike Force wheelchair.
This chair will provide the speed and maneuverability I need to take my skills to the next level. It is also a chair that is used to compete at a competitive level...which is my ultimate goal. Hopefully one day I will make it to the Power Soccer World Cup!
There is no other sport that allows me to compete at this level. Power soccer is the only sport that allows me to:
Be a part of something bigger
Learn the dynamics of teamwork
Work toward a goal
Interact with peers
Regardless of what happens with my physical abilities over time, I will always be able to play power soccer and have something to look forward to!
I will be extremely grateful if you can find it in your heart to donate to my cause.
