Nejra Huremovic was a real-life angel. She was always willing to help, to cook, clean, give advice, and was the brightest light in her family. She had a fall in early December last year which brought us to Intermountain Medical Center, where they found a 14 cm brain tumor that went along with a lower back fracture. She had surgery to remove the majority of the tumor a few days later. The tumor had been growing so quickly over the last few months which means that there was a lot of blood supply to the tumor. She had a brain bleed during recovery after the surgery and lost function of her left side. She just used that as a new obstacle to overcome. She was the fighter we all hope to be in such a situation. She worked so hard with so many different types of therapy but to no avail. We decided shortly after the New Year that we will take her back home where she would be more comfortable and explore other avenues in treatment as we were not giving up and neither was she. Unfortunately, the tumor was an aggressive Stage 4 Glioblastoma and was growing back faster than anticipated. She passed on January 24 and we are all broken. We will be granting her last wish in being laid to rest in her hometown (Orahova) back in Bosnia. We deeply appreciate all the kind words and support that all of our friends and family have given us in this tough time. Thank you.
