Support Nell's Memorial Fund to support young musicians

On October 6 2024 Nell died in a car accident right after completing a video for her upcoming album release.

Nell's family is now on a mission to commemorate their beautiful daughter who achieved so much in her short 17 years by setting up a fund that will provide support and funding for young musicians.

The Nell Smith Memorial Fund will empower young musicians who share Nell’s dedication to pursuing a music career. It will provide grants and other support helping promising artists overcome financial barriers and achieve their dreams.

Our mission is to ensure that Nell’s memory inspires others to chase their passion for music with the same joy and determination she embodied.

We aim to raise $100,000 and donate $10,000 per year for 10 years

BELOW WAS NELL'S ORIGINAL GOFUNDME ASK

Hi, my name is Nell, in 2020 I recorded an album of Nick Cave cover versions with my favourite band The Flaming Lips. It was an amazing experience and I was lucky enough to be able to tour with the band and perform at shows in the UK and North America.

What you might not know is that when I was 12 I started writing my own songs and now I am in the process of putting together my own album of original material. It's hard work and expensive, so far my family and I have spent about $18,000CAN including travel, accommodation, recording and other expenses.

I'm hoping that you can help me out a little. I'll keep you up to date with how things go and if you donate I'll make sure you get access to some exclusive videos and songs as they get completed.
