Help my sister recover from theft~

Hello friends, family, and well-wishing philanthropists! My sweet sister Nell made the long-anticipated move from Northern Michigan to Los Angeles to lean into her skills and industry (art and podcasting) and really follow a dream. That in and of itself is both scary and exhilarating! She and our older sister drove cross-country in her little car, enjoying the road trip and the scenery, while most of her belongings were packed in a Uhaul pod to be delivered a few weeks later.
Here’s where the story takes an unfortunate turn - upon its delivery to LA, the pod was found to have been broken into, with many valuable and invaluable things taken - her self-customized computer, expensive and deeply meaningful ball-jointed dolls, shoes, handbags, clothes (including our late father's jacket). The heartbreak mounted as she unpacked, finding more things missing and others broken from being stepped on by the perpetrators. She‘s filed a police report and insurance claim - but it’s not clear how either will pan out, and as many of us know insurance can take a LONG time to get it together.
So I’ve put together a fundraiser in hopes to raise enough so that she can at least build a new computer, if not replace some of the other stolen objects. The feeling of violation and heartbreak will take awhile to heal from, but here’s hoping a little something from people that love her will help her on the way. I know one day we will be able to look back and note this as her Hollywood Movie moment - girl from the sticks (or the woods as it were) moves to LA to follow her dream, only to be robbed day 1 (Coyote Ugly, Burlesque)- and she will come out of this brighter than ever. But right now it’s still painful, and hopefully together we can help her find the silver lining a little quicker and without having to work at a niche bar. Unless she wants to #support.
