It has been said that you can't fight a war on two fronts. Our friend Nellie is fighting the war for her life. ALL of us who know Nellie have witnessed her dogged determination, positivity, and strength; so when she told us about the new battle she has begun, we knew it was a big one. She shared the following:
For those who don't know I have adenosquamos carcinoma of the cervix that has metastasized. I have cancer and it is not going well. It will depend on how my body responds to the chemo and radiation as to whether they are able to stop it from spreading. Unfortunately they are not looking to cure me at this point in time, just to try and keep the disease at bay. I start radiation next week in Calgary for two weeks and then 18 weeks of chemo after that. Feel free to ask me any questions. I wanted to post this picture of me happy and healthy after one of my competitions not to long ago.
Folks, she has just completed the radiation and starts chemotherapy next week. She and her husband have been working hard to complete marks medical training all at the same time...that's a lot!
THEY need our help. They need to put all their energy into this battle. If we can take away even one concern, won't you help? Nellie has had to leave work and mark is limited in how much he can do...let's rally together and show Nellie financially how truly behind her we are!
