Nelly the kitten born without a bum!

Donation protected
Little Smelly Nelly was brought into the practice on 10th October, barely conscious and lifeless. She was picked up by a kind member of the public and brought to us. We worked hard all morning and eventually got Nelly fully conscious, with quick thinking and intensive nursing skills. Nelly required active warming as her temperature was too low to read, and glucose direct to her bloodstream as her blood sugar was so low it wouldn’t read. We cleared her of maggots and fly eggs and got her on fluids to correct her dehydration levels.
What we found on Nelly confused us all, her back end did not look normal at all! She was full of impacted poop, which was full of hair. We cleared what we could and made her comfortable. It was found later once all the swelling had gone down, that Nelly did not have a booty hole!!
Nelly has a very rare condition known as atresia ani with rectovaginal fistula. This means she was born without a bum hole, and she was actually pooping via her lady parts!! It’s a condition that results in death very soon after birth, however little Nelly had made it to around 4-5 weeks, out in the wild, with this rare condition.
The only way to live a full life with this would be to have surgery to give her a working bum, and close the fistula.
Nelly is a stray, with no family to pay her surgery and nursing bills, but she has fought so hard to survive, so we have decided to fundraise to cover the costs of her veterinary surgery and nursing, so she can have a shot at a proper life!!
She has undergone surgery today and is in recovery, but there is a long road ahead for her. She has a foster home with myself once she comes out of hospital, but will be searching for her forever family in the future.
Please consider donating to cover the costs of her surgery and ongoing nursing, to give little Smelly Nelly the designer booty and the life she deserves!
Costs for the surgery and treatment are attached, with the total of the fundraiser taking in to consideration she will require ongoing treatment in her recovery, estimates will be added as we assess her progress.

Thank you form myself and Nelly, the kitty who forgot to grow a bum and had to poop from her foof!!
