Bring our boy home
Donation protected
Hi my name is Michaela and I'm raising funds for my little sister Trudy, so she can bring her boy Andre home and lay him to rest.
Because of how unexpectedly this was, we are now left struggling on how we are going to pay for all expense.
All funds raised will be used towards
1-travelling and accommodation for my sister and her family while still in Brisbane, then travelling back home to townsville when the time comes.
2- paying to bring our sweet boy home to townsville from Brisbane.
3- all other funeral related cost.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
About Andre- Andre Daisy is a sweet, kind-hearted 5 year old boy, who was so excited to start prep on Monday with his big sister, he is the only boy with 3 sister and is definitely a mumma's boy, he loved playing video games especially fortnite, and he is always making you laugh by something he was saying or doing.
Andre's story-
On Thursday the 2nd of February 2023
Andre woke up with a headache and had a bit of a spew but was still his normal happy little self , so his parents thought he just had a tummy bug or a flu.
They had left Brisbane that morning to travel back home to townsville after being away for holidays.
Andre was with his mum Trudy, his stepdad Jarick and his three sisters. As they got to Gladstone just before 2 p.m. Andre started to have a seizure so they pulled over and called an ambulance. By the time they got to hospital he was seizuring more so they decided to put him to sleep to rest his body.
That afternoon at about 3 o'clock they decided that he needs to be flown to the children's hospital in Brisbane.
so by 11 o'clock Thursday night they arrived at the Brisbane hospital, they took him Straight in for tests- which took a while but showed he was stable.
Friday morning the 3rd of February they told my sister that her son Andre had swelling on the brain and no brain function, but the doctors still tried their hardest to save him they took him for surgery to drain and release the pressure but unfortunately it it caused his brain to swell more.
They spend all Friday night and all of Saturday monitoring him to see if anything would change, they took him Saturday afternoon for his last test which showed no improvement.
My sister Trudy, her partner Jarick, my nephews father and his partner were told Saturday afternoon that he had no brain function at all and that there is nothing that they can do. They took all of his monitors out and now he's just left with his breathing tube, his parents bathed him for the last time and his father's done his hair.
He is now currently surrounded by his parents and family members until he decides he's ready to let go or until his parents are ready to let him go.
The doctors still don't know what caused this they know that he had an infection on his brain so they are saying it could be meningitis but what we don't understand is why it happened so fast Thursday morning he had a headache and A vomit but was still his normal happy little self but Sunday morning and he is now on life support.
He had no other symptoms he had nothing, by the time anyone knew something was wrong with him it was too late to do anything to save him.
I couldn't imagine the pain my sister is in and there is nothing I can do to help.
So making this page is my way of helping her so this is one thing she doesn't have to worry about.
Thank you all for taking the time and reading our story.
We appreciate you all.
