On November 4, 2023, Nepal’s worst earthquake in nearly a decade struck a remote region of the Himalayan nation late Friday night, killing at least 157 people and destroying thousands of homes, Nepali officials said, warning that the death toll could still rise.
The 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred after 11:30 p.m. local time at a shallow depth of 11 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter was near the Jajarkot district, more than 300 miles west of the capital, Kathmandu.
This fund will support medical, food, and housing for the people impacted by the earthquake.
