Hello, my name is Ian, and I am from the United States. I am raising money to help my friend Nermeen and her family escape from Gaza and make it to safety so that they can live peacefully. They have been forced to evacuate and relocate several times. There were other GoFundMe fundraisers for her, but because Palestine is not a "supported country" all funds were returned to the donors. I live in the USA, which is supported, and I will be sending Nermeen every dollar donated, except what is taken as fees by GoFundMe and the bank transfers.
**Nermeen’s Story**
My name is Nermeen, from Gaza. As I write this, tears stream down my face. I am pleading for help to save my family and myself from a nightmare that seems never-ending. We have lost everything—our home, our safety, and my dreams.
I once had a job in digital marketing with a Saudi company. That job gave me hope and allowed me to support my family. But the war took that away, leaving me jobless and broken. I am now left with nothing but despair.
My future plan is to leave Gaza and pursue a Master’s degree. I want to use my education to support my family and improve their lives. I worked hard to graduate and find a job, but now I have lost everything. I just want to escape this war, continue my studies, and rebuild my life so I can help my family escape this nightmare and give them a happy, secure life.
Currently, I am crammed into a small shelter in Rafah with my family, sharing our space with 30 other displaced individuals. We have been forced to evacuate for the 17th time by the end of October. Each day is filled with fear, uncertainty, and the constant threat of loss. I feel my sanity slipping away with every passing moment, and I am haunted by the thought of losing my life without ever realizing my dreams.
I have lost everything—my job, my home, and my future. The only thing left to lose is my life, and I am terrified. I place my hope in your hands, pleading for your assistance to help us escape this tragedy before it’s too late.
