Network of Advocacy for Youth Empowerment

Hi. My name is SINNEH BANGURA. I am fundraising for the Network of Advocacy for Youth Empowerment Sierra Leone one of the leading child protection organizations in the Kambia district and is seeking funds for the construction of an institutional Care center/interim Care Center for survivors of Sexual Gender Base Violence (SGBV) and Trafficking.

The absence of a functional institutional Care Center (ICC)/Interim Care Center, the absence of effective and efficient human resources, has been a major challenge in addressing the situation of children that have been experiencing Sexual Gender Base Violence (SGBV), Trafficking and other form of violence in Kambia district and Northwest Region as a whole. Up to this moment, there is no single infrastructural facility that can provide professional services to victims of Sexual Gender Base Violence (SGBV) and trafficking in the entire district, thus, children continue to experience huge setbacks in securing justice in the legal system, and by extension could not have access to professional psycho-social support and other services. Children have been struggling to have access to appropriate medical care for victims of Sexual Gender Base Violence (SGBV) because procedures for endorsement of medical for the victims had not been followed; this is a result of the lack of an efficient institutional Care Center to follow up with these cases.
