Update: September 2, 2023,
this sweet girl has gained her wings and has been relieved of all pain and discomfort that she had on this earth. April and her family have been through soooo much already. Now they have lost a fight that no parent deserves to lose. Please if you still can donate towards their medical debt, travel expenses and now laying their sweet girl to rest. The family is looking into cremation and a special place the keep Nevaeh. As always, it’s not all about money so please keep the prayers coming for this family to find peace and be able to rest knowing that she is in a better place.

Hi, my name is Noel Jenkins. I met the most amazing girl with the brightest smile at her 8th grade dance. All she wanted was to have the life her other classmates had. We laughed, joked and danced. From that moment on, I knew that I needed to do anything and everything I could for this girl and her family. Here is a summary of the nightmare this family has been through.
When Nevaeh was 4 years old she had a grand mail seizure. She was rushed to the hospital in Reno, NV where they discovered she was in renal failure and her body was shutting down. As that hospital was not as equipped to handle her delicate state, she was life flighted to Stanford Childrens hospital, where she received care over the next 16 months. Many times it seemed she would not pull through, but she did. She was on dialysis for over a year until she was able to recieve a transplant right before her 6th birthday. A few months later we were able to go home. But we were now on a new adventure as we had lost our home during our stay at Stanford. So we packed up our family of 5 and adventured to Las Vegas instead of back to Reno, since Las Vegas was more equipped with specialist she needed. We spent about 4.5 years in Vegas, finally having some sense of normalcy again and getting our lives back together. Then we decided on another new adventure back up to Reno area, but another unexpected event happened. Nevaeh was injured at school one day which caused multiple brain bleeds. Nevaeh was taken to a trauma center that watched her overnight until they did their 2nd CT scan. This showed her bleeding had progressed tremendously and she was rushed into brain surgery. This was such a scary time, but again, she made it through. After she had healed we continued on with our move and settled in Northern Nevada again. She had a few more good years as we adjusted to our new life, until the next thing hit. This time her liver. Her gastroenterologist referred us back to Stanford to the liver transplant team. We we have been making the long travel back and forth to keep up with the care and work up for being listed for a liver transplant. Nevaeh was finally listed on January 27 2023 and we were so hopeful. Unfortunately, the first call ended up being a no go because the donor liver “wasn’t perfect enough”. The second call brought us to Stanford but the transplant was canceled because Nevaeh had a cold and her kidney numbers weren’t right where they wanted them. This is when kidney started to become more of a problem and eventually we were told Nevaeh would need a kidney liver transplant. So work up for that began. Then Nevaeh’s heart decided to start declining and fast. And now here we are today being told she would need a kidney liver heart transplant to survive, but survival odds are less than 1%, so our hospital will not operate. We have second opinions out to different hospitals to see if anything can be done.

This family has been through more than they should have to. This family should be able to be together making memories and living what we see as a normal every day life. When you go through these horrific times and also have gone through loss, it truly opens up your eyes to what we take advantage of every day. It’s not all about the financial burden or the physical acts of help for this family, but prayer goes such a long way, and my friend Nevaeh needs anything you can give her. God has placed her in my life for a reason and I won’t give up! Thank you for everyone for EVERYTHING! In the worst times we need to come together. #LETSGO! #Nevaehstrong
