Nevaeh Star Rose

Hi there my name is Star Winstead. My sweet 5 year old Nevaeh has a rare cancer called Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma , or ASPS, is a cancer that can come from different types of soft tissue, such as muscle, fat, or nerves. It may also be called alveolar soft tissue sarcoma, alveolar sarcoma of soft parts, or ASP sarcoma.Soft tissue sarcoma is a broad term for cancers that start in soft tissues (muscle, tendons, fat, lymph and blood vessels, and nerves). These cancers can develop anywhere in the body but are found mostly in the arms, legs, chest, and abdomen. It’s in her calf where she will go to University of Birmingham, Alabama for surgery to have it removed and will loose part of her calf muscle ,followed by chemotherapy and radiation. We are waiting for a PET scan in hopes there isn’t any abnormalities any where else. Bills still come and rent has to be paid. Please help in anyway possible so our family can be with her as we start this journey to recovery. Thank you!
