"Never Forget" Short Film

You and I see it in the news everyday—the headlines are repetitive, horrifying, shocking, and heart-breaking. The ban for guns hasn’t just become a “conversation” but now a revolution. If you’re wondering where I came up with this idea to do a short film on the gun violence in America—let me explain.
I was inspired to create this film way before one of the many school shootings such as, Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in 2018 happened. I’m sure you’ve heard of Sandy Hook, Columbine, and countless others that are unfortunate to even be listing down in the first place. The 2015 Paris attacks had me sobbing like you could imagine… but something else happened that day…phone recordings of the Paris attacks had been going viral in news castings and all over the internet.
What got me, was how these clips made me feel like I was really there. That’s exactly my goal for “Never Forget.”
In 2018, a student-led protest called, “March For Our Lives” inspired millions of youths to help change America’s gun laws into obtaining more regulated and stricter ones, and I’m prepared to be apart of this change. On February 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida which killed 17 students and staff member and injured 17 others. Students from that high school such as Emma Gonzalez, David Hogg, Cameron Kasky, and many other survivors of Stoneman Douglas are changing the hearts of people across the nation, and need our help to be louder than ever before.
The Impact
For those that don’t know how I funded my last short film, “Far Away Places” in 2016, I used sources such as, Go Fund Me. I’m looking to do the same for “Never Forget.” With your help, we will be creating an impactful and meaningful short film that can inspire others to open people’s minds through film.
This spring, we are filming in Vancouver, British Columbia over the course of 3 days. The funds needed are ($15,000) to complete pre-production and post-production. We will be submitting our film to the film festivals all around the world, and will be putting updates on the “Never Forget short film” Facebook page.
The funds will help immensely for these specific production needs:
-Pre-production
-Post-production
-Editing
-Cast
-Crew
-Equipment (light, sound, etc)
-Costumes
-Makeup & Hair
-Props
-Car Rental
-Sounds Design
-Color Correction
Every dollar is going to be put to good use and is making a different in creating something that could perhaps change someone’s heart, or even better—a nation. You’re contributing not only to this film, but also to a movement. None of this is possible with our your support! I want to thank you so so much for taking the time to read what my project is about and what is needed! I like to create films that have lessons to them, and I think this one is my favorite so far because of the message and awareness it can bring to people! I’m very excited to see what’ll happen when people come aboard and create some magic!
