New Air Condition Unit needed for Elderly Woman

Hi I'm Faye and I am fundraising for my aunt. She has a very old central heat and air condition unit. At this time the heat is not working. She's had to use space heaters. Someone came out and put freon in the unit and it worked a little and then it started to make loud noises. Out of fear, the unit was turned off. The unit was checked again. The freon level was very low again which indicated a leak. I asked if the leak could be repaired. However because the unit is so old, it is suggested that a new unit be purchased. I don't want my aunt to be stressed about this issue for she is already suffering with a major medical issue.

My aunt lives in a single family home and she needs a new unit. One company offered a new unit for about $6500.00
