I am reaching out to you to help support Brendan and Annie Williams in their time of unexpected, dire need. I am Brendan's older sister Karein, and I am here to share their story with you.
Brendan and Annie married in 2019, and recently found out they were expecting their first child while residing in Vietnam temporarily. Annie is currently 5 months pregnant, and they were ecstatic to be new parents. However their world drastically changed early November when Brendan became unwell and went to a doctor in Vietnam, who sent him right away to a local hospital. Brendan was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) which had come on drastically fast, with no warning. As we were coordinating a return for Brendan to Australia for treatment for his AML, he contracted bacterial pneumonia and a fungal blood infection while in the hospital.
Due to the nature of the pneumonia, Brendan needed to be intubated and placed in an induced coma to help his breathing. Currently as he is located overseas, the ICU is costing Annie roughly $2,000 AU per day, and she is expected to pay in advance. This fundraiser is entirely to help support her with this matter, and to allow Brendan the time he needs to recover to make the journey home and meet his daughter for the first time.
Please feel free to share any of this with your community, as this GoFundMe page will be left open for a while and all proceeds will be directed to Annie to pay for the hospital bills.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your support, caring and generosity for the Williams family.
