New Ayer Shirley HS Drumline Equipment

The Ayer Shirley High School Drumline is in need of new equipment and materials, and with the current music budget at the high school, it is extremely hard to buy the things that the drumline needs to thrive and succeed. We hope to raise $8,500 by the start of the 2024-2025 marching band season, with the help of both our community and generous companies.

Drum heads should be changed every six months, but the heads on the tenor drums have not been changed in over six years. One of the snare players needs to play with a broken bottom head because there are no replacement heads, and the bass drum has to be played with broken mallets since it is the only pair. There is no equipment maintenance and the lack of maintenance has degraded the quality of the instruments over time. Players are using different harnesses to carry their instruments, and drums are being transported without cases which poses a threat to the instruments. With some help from the community, the drumline could afford to get new equipment and properly maintain it.

As a former student at Ayer Shirley Regional High School, a former member of the marching band, and a current staff member of the drumline section of the marching band, I want to help the drumline grow and get what they need to succeed. I started this fundraiser to raise money for the current students to have nice equipment that is not falling apart, and that gives them the best chance possible to grow as musicians and gain the experience needed to pursue music after high school.

A goal of $8,500 has been established to meet all the needs of the drumline. This includes brand new drum shells, heads, and harnesses, as well as essential accessories.
