New Bike Depot at the Summit Train Station

Tax deductible
Better bike storage at the Summit train station!

Have you wished for a better way to park your bike at the train station? The bike boxes are fine, but this is better!

The Summit Conservancy, in cooperation with the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition and the City of Summit, is leading a community-wide effort to raise $20,000 to build the Bike Depot. Similar bike depots have been constructed in Montclair, Bloomfield, and Elizabeth. The planned Summit Conservancy Bike Depot will replace the existing, unattractive bike storage boxes, and will be so much more! It will be a walk-in facility that is lighted, secure, and dry. It will also have a repair stand and outlets for charging electric bikes.

Riding your bike to the train helps keep Summit green!
Reduces automobile pollution
Reduces traffic congestion around the train station
Increases foot traffic to downtown shops and restaurants

The depot will offer
Safe storage for 32 bikes
Controlled door access
Security camera
Clear, shatter-proof polycarbonate walls for added security
Affordable rates of $20/month, open to the public
An attractive addition to our downtown

The Bike Depot will be built six months after fundraising is completed. Donate now to turn this forgotten corner near the train station into an attractive and environmentally friendly asset to Summit’s downtown!
