New building for Serc School - KTM
Don protégé
Back in 2016 I was a volunteer for Serc School in Nepal. Now I will go back to visit them in a few weeks, and I found out that they have been evicted from the current school facilities, as the landlord sold the land. Deadline to leave premises is 17 Nov 2017!
Previously, they were already working on a new school project, 16 km away from their current location. The project completion was for 2019, offering 19 classrooms, 8 rehabilitation rooms, 10 toilets and 5 bathrooms, four rooms for vocational training, two dormitories and a large kitchen and dining hall.
Due to this dramatic turn of events, now they need to collect funds immediately to have at least 8 classrooms and 2 toilets finished by the 17 Nov, to continue the children education and rehabilitation programs. Serc School attends kids with special needs and physical disabilities and they currently attend over 100 kids. You can check their Instagram page at @serc.school (see how happy the children are at the school)
By 17th of Nov in whatever rooms are completed, they will move in. The construction started on the 5th of Sep. I am confident that with your wonderful support, Serc School can have at least 2 rehabilitation rooms before they move in 17 Nov.
I will make sure I sent pictures and updates by end of Oct when I will be in Kathmandu.
Namaste! Rina
