New Elevator at Islamic Community Centre

We are a group of youth from Imam Hussain Foundation in Windsor, Ontario wishing to replace the existing elevator in the foundation. Imam Hussain Foundation is an Islamic community centre of 15 years serving the community of Windsor in all its diversity.  The existing elevator has a capacity of 12 persons and travels between the three floors of this 40,000 sqft building. About a year and a half ago, the elevator was deemed unsafe for use and was ultimately turned off. From that time until today, the centre has been trying to raise funds from within the community but due to the cost, the amount raised does not begin to cover the simplest of tasks needed for the elevator. For the last year and a half, those in need of the elevator were not able to take part in the many programs of the centre. Some would find a place in the reception area in the front of the centre and try to hear the speaker from the hall upstairs. Seeing this, a few of the university students got together, some of them being  in need of the elevator itself, and began thinking of a few different ways of raising funds to replace the existing elevator and so this page was born.

The elevator will be replaced and installed by the reputed company; OTIS. The full replacement will include, but is not limited to: 

1) New 380 volt, AC motor to drive the elevator.
2) Otis ReGen™ Drive module
3) Brand new wiring for the car
4) Brand new travelling cable for the Hoistway
5) Otis M3 Stainless Steel Car Operating Panel
6)Otis Hands Free Emergency Phone
7)Automatic Self-Leveling System 
8) Remote Elevator Monitoring Maintenance 
9) Otis fixtures for the mechanism 

The quote from OTIS is $159,400 plus taxes. This quote includes all removal, installation and hardware costs. The project will take approximately 3 weeks to complete and our goal is to raise the funds by April with your help. This project is for the future of this community and by giving, you are building for the generations to come. Any amount will help and as Ali son of Abi Talib says:
