New England Base Camp - Keep the Kids Warm
Tax deductible
Dear Fellow Parents,
Bethan and I were delighted to find the New England Base Camp and Home Base Learning Center, where kids can continue to have the experience of childhood in the times of the pandemic. We are happy our boy, Hollis, is getting a healthy dose of fresh air, exercise, and hands-on learning instead of an all day Zoom call.
Thankfully, Base Camp has been able to provide programming without much disruption since the beginning of the pandemic. However, as winter weather sets in, new challenges arise. It’s difficult for children to learn if their toes are cold or their mittens are wet. We need your help to provide an alternative for the kids to stay warm without extended periods indoors.
In this Phase I initiative,Base Camp is endeavoring to purchase a dozen new outdoor propane heaters. These heaters would be stationed at strategic positions throughout the property, as shown on the map (click here). A future Phase II initiative would fund the construction of two pavilions. These improvements will provide shelter and warmth during the challenging season ahead, without going indoors. Our kids and their instructors will be able to maintain educational pacing by taking short breaks to thaw out.
Please join me in making a tax deductible contribution to this campaign. The first priority is the propane heaters. The goal for this Phase I campaign is $3,600. The second initiative, to construct the two pavilions will have a goal of $15,000.
Please give what you can.
Sincerely,
Dan Kacher and Bethan Steward, parents of Hollis Kacher
