New Uniforms for the ITC Eagles Football Team
Donation protected
Last year, for the first time in their history, our ITC Eagles football team made it to the Section III Class B Playoffs Semi-Finals. They did this in spite of the fact that their team is very small, with many players playing both offense and defense out of necessity - and they managed this accomplishment even though they do not have their own field to practice on.
When others had little faith, these players and their coaches had - and still have - heart, determination, and well-earned confidence.
These young men give off the field, as well. They have created their own community service organization – Athletes for Community Engagement (ACE) – which has worked food drives and distributed athletic shoes to up-and-coming players who needed them. With summer fast approaching, they have even more service projects planned, including volunteering at a homeless men’s shelter not far from their school.
In recognition of their hard work and giving spirit, they were awarded the Syracuse University MLK Unsung Heroes Award earlier this year.
The young men on this team, most of whom will be seniors this year, have designed a new uniform to celebrate all they have achieved and look like the winners they are. The players are asking for your help in raising the $5,000 they need to purchase the uniforms and personalize them so that they each have a keepsake to hold on to as a reminder of all that they have accomplished, both individually and as a team.
Any donation you can make would be appreciated by these young men who give so much back to their community.
