Puerto Rico was slammed Wednesday by hurricane Maria, a powerful category 4 hurricane. It was the strongest storm to make landfall in Puerto Rico since 1932. It came ashore with sustained winds of 155 mph, knocking out power to the entire island. Trees were uprooted, homes were ruined, and the entire island was impacted.
Carlos Mercader, spokesman for Puerto Rico Governor said “This is total devastation,”, “Puerto Rico, in terms of the infrastructure, will not be the same… This is something of historic proportions.”
Families may not have power for four to six months!!!
People’s lives have been shattered!
