New home for the RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre
Donation protected
The RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre was born in 2016 and opened to the public in August 2019.
Since then we have gone from strength to strength to the point were we now need a much larger building.
The Heritage Centre is a memorial to the thousands of people that have passed though its historic gates.
In February 2022, the most recognisable building, the VHB ATC Tower was demolished and the heart of the airfield was gone.
It's not going to be to long before nothing is left.
Also in February 2022, we had the honour and privilege that Her Majesty, The Queen paid the RSHC a private visit.
We must be doing something right!
With this, it's very clear that the former airfield infrastructure will not be around forever and now is the time to help us convert the former Chapel building for use as the new home of the RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre.
It was built as part of the VHB conversion in 1945 and originally was the Chapel.
Its also been the AYA, Bowling alley, Cinema and School.
But we need your support to make this happen.
We have done so well in the past year in what we have achieved, but we still need your support.
We have done so much in a short space of time and with the HM visit, proves how important this Cold War airfield is to many and how we can keep the memory of the people who called Sculthorpe home.
