New Hope & New Home for Stasha

Stasha is a giver…and a fighter.  But some fights you can’t win on your own, no matter how hard you try.  Stasha is my friend, and in the years I’ve known her, she has fought for those who couldn’t.  I met her when she was planning to spruce up the neglected local veteran’s cemetery for Veteran’s Day.  Since then, I’ve seen her work tirelessly to help people remain housed in her beloved Redwood City and beyond.  She also stepped out of her safety zone during this Covid-19 crisis to regularly provide water and food to the homeless.  Now, my friend Stasha is finding her own housing situation in the Bay Area to be unsustainable.

Looking at her, you’d never know Stasha has endured 9 surgeries in the last 5 years.  This has kept her from the regular income earning job that sustained her – but she didn’t give up and has managed to keep it together to stay afloat for a period of time.  But now, none of it is enough – even with a housing voucher. 

So, what do you do when you are priced out of your community?  You move.  But moving costs money.  And right now, that’s money Stasha does not have.  She can’t afford to stay, and she can’t afford to leave.  And this is why I am asking you to join me to help this person who has stood up time after time for those who are vulnerable.  Stasha is the vulnerable one now.  If there truly is a ‘Pay it Forward,’ she is the gal who deserves to be on the receiving end. 

Please help Stasha to relocate the 2,500 miles to a new home in Ohio where she can afford the cost of living.  Your donation will cover the moving truck, gas and motel stay while on the road.  More importantly, your support will give Stasha an opportunity to leave behind years of housing worry.  Let’s get her on the road with some hope in her pocket.
