New life orphanage in Ghana

Donation protected

Throughout August I have spent time volunteering at the New Life children’s orphanage in Ghana. Here, they specialise in caring for children suffering from a range of disabilities. These include Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus.

This particular orphanage is funded solely by church funds. As a result, facilities lack leading the reduced care and less opportunities for these precious children. Experiencing this first hand has motivated me to raise money to help provide necessary essentials they struggle to provide due to lack of funding. I aim to invest in equipment suitable to help the children’s development. This includes sensory equipment, which I have seen and used specifically to aid the development of children suffering from similar diseases as the ones I have encountered at the New Life children’s orphanage.

These children are beyond precious and find happiness in the simplest of things despite their circumstances. Their laughter and happiness is infectious.

Each child has touched my heart in a way I could never have imaged. Just like us, they deserve the right to have opportunities that help them to develop and succeed in life.
