New lungs for Melven Jones

Hello My name is Christie Robbins I have started a go fund me page on behalf of Melven Jones otherwise known as our Papa. Melven is 66 years old , Indigenous from the Snuneymuxw Band in Nanimo BC. Melven lives in Victoria Bc. The last three years he has suffered with Interstitial lung disease and as a result has been in and out of the hospital numerous times as well has been close to death. As a results of Mels conditioning progressing he now now has to be on oxygen 24-7 in order to be able to breathe and survive. After three long years of traveling back and fourth to Vancouver and completing many tests he has recieved the great news he has officially been added to the lung transplant list. This is amazing news but it also means that when he receives the call that lungs are available mel and his support person will need to head to Vancouver immediately. Mels support person will be required stay in vancouver with him for 3 months possibly longer. His support person will be bringing mel to and from appointments weekly but will be required to stay in a hotel in vancouver close by while he begins his recovery from his lung transplant. i am raising money to help with his support person , food and accommodations while staying in Vancouver. FNHA will cover some of the costs but we want to ensure we are covering everything else that may come up or be needed for mel’s support as well as his own personal self. We are also still trying to secure a support person and funds to help have someone stay with Mel while he's over there if anyone would like to help with this job please let us know. There is no time line when we will receive the call to go to Van so we want to ensure all our basis are covered. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts in supporting Mel.
