AT&SF 2926 Needs Funds for a Support Car

ATSF2926, after 20 plus years, has moved under its own power and is now complete. Still, we need funds to complete the refitting of a donated AMTRAK baggage car into a combination tool/lubricant, crew, souvenir sales and generator car. When 2926 ran the rails, services such as repairs, water, fuel, and personnel changes were provided about every 125 miles along the western ATSF routes, resulting in the creation of many small villages, some of which survive, but without the services to the railroad. Modern engines do not require those services anymore; thus we have to take them with us.

We need funds for exterior painting, professional wiring of the 480-volt genset, service tools, lubrication storage, safety equipment, etc.

When finished, it will tag along with the historic engine providing the necessary services needed when she travels. Over 150,000 dollars have gone into this project to date.
