New Momma Fighting Cancer -- Susie & baby Sawyer

News of a baby on-the-way was quickly followed by news of cervical cancer for Susie and her husband Matt.

As if pregnancy and becoming first-time parents isn't hard enough, Susie went through weeks of chemo throughout her second and third trimester before giving birth to an absolutely stunning baby boy, Sawyer. She shared her experience with her community on Facebook with vulnerability and strength and has inspired many with her family's heartbreakingly beautiful journey.

Sawyer is thriving and is so lucky to have such strong and loving parents.

Unfortunately for Susie, her recent test results came back positive and she will need several weeks of radiation and additional chemo treatment :,(. In addition to postpartum healing, and caring for her (so incredibly adorable) son, she is preparing to battle this cancer again.


Matt, has been at her side through all of this and they have been fortunate to have good friends and family nearby. But they are behind on bills and exhausted (financially and literally because...you know...newborns don't sleep). Matt has exhasted his PTO to be by Susie's side and, even with good insurance, co-pays and other medical expenses are stacking up.
