New Orleans Artist MOUSIE's HIP
Donation protected
Hey boys and girls, it's Fritz the Cat!
I want to start out by thanking all of you for your love and support for the Mouse and her "Mousie girls" over the years.
It has made it possible for us to live a magical life and to be at the "Center of the Universe" here in Jackson Square and meet folks from all over the world.
What a job!
Many of you have noticed that the Mouse has been having increasing pain and difficulties getting around and after several years the doctors have finally developed a plan of action.
That's the good news! Thanks to the federal Medicare expansion and our Democratic governor of Louisiana opting our state in, Mouse is eligible for and will receive a total hip replacement.
Hooray, finally an end to the constant pain and yes Mouse will dance again!
Although the major surgery is covered, most everything else is still our responsibility. Before they can do the hip we must first take care of a list of other things like dental work, long overdue, to make sure there is no risk of infection or other problems. She will start physical therapy to get ready for the procedure. She has lived her life as a dancer and athlete so her prognosis for a full recovery is good. And as great as it is to finally have a plan and be on the schedule for this medical procedure the medical clock moves slowly. She may not be scheduled for surgery until March.
So to make this new adventure possible and to increase the odds for a successful outcome, I will be looking into starting a GoFundMe account for the Mouse's upcoming medical and living expenses.
So once again thank you so much for your love and support!
Stay tuned for further updates.
Peace and love,
Fritz the Cat
