New racing wheelchair

Hey everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is JohnBoy Smith and I’m a Paralympic and commonwealth athlete. I have won silver and gold medals at the commonwealth games and represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games

the reason I have created this page is because I am now in need of a new racing wheelchair after a recent incident at at race

in April 2022 I attended the Paris marathon, in which I was involved in a crash which was the fault of the race organisation. The lead vehicle slammed on its breaks in front of me and caused me to crash into it, along with two other racers. After being temporarily fixed and with a promise of a replacement chair from the insurance company, I have done my best to compete still. However, the Paris Marathon insurance company have now declared that they are no longer responsible for the crash and aren’t going to pay for a replacement chair OR any of the damages! So I have now been left with a damaged racing chair and no funds to buy a new one!!!

So that was my turning point to make a page and to ask for help and I feel I have no other option. All I ask is that if anyone can donate anything towards a new chair, not only will I be so grateful but it will help excel my career but continue to compete at an elite level for this country
