New Roots 2024 Season!

New Roots is a fully-funded creative residency program in upstate New York for LGBTQIA+2S artists. Located at the beautiful, queer and trans-owned Walhalla Farm, New Roots is an organization defined by Farm and Family. Our mission is two-fold: to support the work and process of queer artists in a retreat setting, and to share queer-centered, community-building arts experiences with our local agricultural community. 

We provide workspace for LGBTQIA+2S artists in a safe and inspiring rural environment. New Roots seeks to bridge the gap between queer and rural identities; to gently facilitate, nurture dialogue, and inspire warm interactions between artists, art, and onlooker.
