A New Sign for the Welles-Shipman-Ward House

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Historical Society of Glastonbury, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us. We seek to replace the old sign in front of the historic Welles-Shipman-Ward House. The property consists of a 1755 Connecticut mansion surrounded by historic barns and a tobacco shed.

The historic home on the National Registry of Historic Places welcomes students and visitors from around the country.

The twenty-five year old sign out front is worn and riddled with woodpecker holes, so much so that the sign is barely readable from the road. We have obtained a quote to have it replaced with volunteers ready to install it. We are looking for persons willing to help fund the recreation of a sign worthy of a beautiful historic colonial house. Extra money collected may buy a woodpecker feeder in the hopes that keeping busy birds feed will help the sign last more than twenty five years this next time.
