New Voices in Writing Scholarship Fund

Hello, my name is Kathleen Kaiser, and I’m the President of the Writers & Publishers Network (WPN) and the Founder of the 805 Writers Conference. 

 

The conference was created for people wanting to learn about the craft and business of book publishing. I know; I was one of those writers trying to navigate the maze that is book publishing. But my twenty years of producing conferences came in handy as I met more experts and industry professionals. So, I decided to launch the 805 Writers Conference to expose other writers to the world of people who can help them and answer their questions.

 

Originally launched in 2011, the 805 Writers Conference has evolved into a stellar event featuring best-selling authors, nationally recognized book marketing experts, literary agents, and editors. The conference spotlights many successful authors who reside in the 805 area code, including Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties—the Central Coast of California. We also have NY Times bestselling authors, award-winning authors, top literary agents, and book marketing experts. All deliver information that writers can take home and use the next day.

 

We have been on hiatus for the last two years due to Covid, so we are looking for your support to get back on our feet. We especially are looking to raise funds to support local students as well as seniors with scholarships to provide them with the opportunity to learn these critical skills and make valuable connections.

Where your donation goes…

We are looking to raise funds for the WPN Scholarship Fund, which will provide scholarships to students 16-25 and seniors over 60. Scholarship winners will be selected from submissions that will be judged by published authors and professional editors
