Donation protected
We have achieved LIFT OFF!!!
Sage officially has a NEW WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE VAN - all because of YOU!
Thank you so much to over 200 generous donors! We bought this beautiful Van for Sage.
It has everything Sage asked for - a super durable wheelchair lift, plenty of head room and interior space, extra fold down seating for family road trips, and we installed a B&D Independence 6 way Transfer Seat so that Sage can enjoy the ride up front!!!
We can hardly believe how much of a dream come true this new van is! Thank you so very much.
Sage named her van 'Vinny' for Vincent Van-Go !!!
We cannot wait to take Vinny out for a fun road trip - once we can leave the house!

We are raising donations to help buy Sage a New Wheelchair Accessible Van.
Sage's old minivan is on its very last legs...
We are trying to raise $65,000. Wheelchair Vans are expensive. Any extra money we raise will be saved solely for her van's repairs.
Please help Sage with a donation today!
Any amount really helps.

Over the last 9 years, Multiple Sclerosis has taken a lot from Sage. It is a disease that is unrelenting in many ways. But Sage is a strong woman who is constantly fighting back and just started to give forward as a research participant too.
MS took Sage's ability to balance while standing, to walk, and to read and write. Its affecting her entire nervous system.
Through all this, Sage knows what matters most to her - Surrounding herself with good food, good music, and being around friends and family".
She has taken huge strides over the last 2 years to face MS and stop it in its tracks. We drive up to Albany weekly for Sage to get MS rehab physical and occupational therapy. Sage set up her home so she can do exercise and stretching with help from her aide and family.
And she recently was accepted into a drug trial at the National Institute of Health.
Sage is an inspiration. Her friends and family all know her as a woman who amazingly is balancing a life-changing disease, her battle to heal, and the life that she wants to live.
The ol minivan that got Sage this far....
It was only because of the generous gift of this old minivan that Sage could make it this far. She gets out of her house almost every day to spend it with family and friends, go to the farmers market, and go to physical therapy.
Thank you Iris for your gift of this minivan... Sage used it well.
The minivan is now 15 years old and well used... it is finally done!
The last 3 times Sage drove out of state in the minivan, it has ended up in the shop... one time leaving us stranded on the side of the Jersey Turnpike!
Sage is invited to be a part of a medical drug trial, which means she will be driving down to DC area twice a year and she has doctor's appointments in Albany all the time, we know this old minivan won't make the trip.
The New Van
We are raising money to buy this New Wheelchair Accessible Ford Transit Wagon.
It is super spacious with good head room, which helps Sage a lot since her wheelchair sits her higher than everyone else.
The new van has high ground clearance... which means we won't bottom out anymore.. The old minivan was a low rider, only 4 inches off the ground.
And this new van has a commercial lift... which means it is way more durable than the consumer models that break constantly.
We are super excited that this new van will give Sage the peace of mind and mobility to life her best life.
It will help her to get to doctor's appointments, progress with physical therapy, and
participate in a NIH drug trial. And also, help Sage get out into her community, go to local accessible events, restaurants, trails, and of course... the farmers market!
Most importantly, Sage will get to travel to be with her family and friends for holidays and more.
If you can donate... please do today!
Thank you all for your support! And please share this email widely with your friends and family.
Sincerely,
- Sage and family
P.S. Sage is in the process of starting a non profit with the mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities in the Hudson Valley.
She wants to advocate for and organize projects that help everyone Thrive. Keep an eye out for Thrive HV as it kicks off with projects teaching kids to build wheelchair ramps and install handicap bars.
