New Wheelchair Van to maintain our mobility

Ich heisse Jegi und mein Bruder heisst Abi. Wir haben seit unserer Geburt die Erbkrankheit Muskeldystrophie Typ Duchenne. Die Folge davon ist, dass unsere Körper keine Muskeln aufbauen können. Deswegen sind wir auf den Elektrorollstuhl angewiesen. Trotz diversen Hindernissen durch unsere Krankheit lassen wir es uns nicht nehmen, Spass am Leben zu haben.
Wir sind mobil, weil ein Van für unsere Bedürfnisse umgebaut wurde. So können wir direkt mit dem E-Rollstuhl ins Fahrzeug fahren. Mit dem Van waren wir in der Lage, längere Reisen in der Schweiz und in Europa zu unternehmen. So fuhren wir zum ersten Mal nach vielen Jahren mit der Familie für drei Tage nach Berlin. In Mailand gingen wir fein Pizza essen und den Eifelturm in Paris haben wir auch schon besucht. Da uns Berlin sehr gut gefallen hat, beschlossen wir eine ganze Woche dort zu verbringen. Das Highlight unserer Europatour folgte noch, mit unserer Schwester und Freunden verbrachten wir eine ganze Woche in Amsterdam. Das war eine sehr lustige und unterhaltsame Reise.
Wie Ihr bemerkt habt, sind wir auf ein Fahrzeug angewiesen, das unseren Bedürfnissen entspricht. Nach elf Jahren und mehreren 100‘000 Kilometern sind die Abnutzungserscheinungen beim Van sichtbar. Wir gehen davon aus, dass wir den Van bald ersetzten müssen. Leider ist es uns nicht möglich ein so grosses und teures Fahrzeug selbst zu finanzieren. Deshalb sind wir auf Eure Unterstützung angewiesen.

My name is Jegi and my brother's is Abi. We've had Duchenne muscular dystrophy since birth. The result is that our bodies can't build up muscles. That's why we both have to use electric wheelchairs. Despite various obstacles caused by our disease, we do not miss any opportunity to have fun in life.
We are mobile because a van was converted for our needs. So, we can drive directly into the vehicle with the electric wheelchair. With the van we were able to make longer trips in Switzerland and Europe. So, for the first time after many years, we went to Berlin with the family for three days. In Milan we went to eat fine pizza and we also visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Since we liked Berlin very much, we decided to spend a whole week there. The highlight of our European tour still followed, with our sister and friends we spent a whole week in Amsterdam. That was a very fun and entertaining trip.
As you have noticed, we are dependent on a vehicle that meets our needs. After eleven years and 100'000 thousand of kilometres, the signs of wear are visible on the van. We assume that we must replace the van soon. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to finance such a large and expensive vehicle ourselves. Therefore, we ask for your support.
