New York Stands with Valencia

My name is Sandra McClean and I represent a are group of Valencian living in New York City who have joined together to help those affected by the floods occured last October 29th in Valencia due to the phenomen of La Dana. This is important to me and the rest of the organicers because our families and close friends have been directed impacted by this catastrophe by lossing their cars, houses and loved ones.

Under the slogan “New York stands with Valencia” we invite you to join us next November 19th at La Nacional (239 W 14th st) to our solidarity event to raise funds for the people affected by the Dana in Valencia and in the towns of l'Horta Sud of the province. From 6pm to 10pm, there will be live music such as the Valencian rap of Roy Carlovich (Rawpublik), the melodic indie of Rachel Bard, a special dj set prepared by the Catalan artist Noia, the techno jam session of the group Cable Management and the performative poetry of the Galician Marcos de la Fuente. To help alleviate the complicated situation being experienced in Valencia, a charity auction of different works of art donated by local artists will be held. Food and drink will be provided by leading Spanish restaurateurs in New York such as Paellaway, Lata, El Born Restaurant, Aiala Trenes cakes, Despaña, Catalán Gourmet, Tierra Callada, Estrella de Galicia, Moonlight City Wines and Selections de la Viña.

Attendees will be able to make a suggested donation of $20 throught this gofundme or the EVENTBRITE.

All proceeds will go to the Fundación Horta Sud a non-profit organization that has been doing tireless social work in the villages of L'Horta Sud since 1972. The money will be invested in rebuilding the spaces, both common and private, of the towns most affected by the catastrophe and to support the affected families. The organization will ensure that all contributions go directly to those who need it most.

The funds will be destinated to rebuild spaces that has been destroyed by la dana both private and public, infrastructures and needs that the affected famalies are facing right now.
