Newman Adoption Fund

Many of our family and friends know, but now that our home study is behind us, we are excited to share: we're adopting! We aren't matched yet, but are working with an incredible adoption agency who presents profiles to birth mothers and presents adoptive parents with situations that may seem like a good fit. We don't have a preference of gender, race, etc., so our adoption coordinator and attorney predict a match within 6-12 months. We've been asked a lot about the cost of private adoption already. We should qualify for a tax credit after placement, which we estimate would cover about half of the expenses. Everyone knows we like to be prepared, so we've already been in the process of purchasing items we'll need, so we're not out shopping for necessities right away when we're matched (we're totally cool with the gender neutral stuff!) That being said, we're leaning toward having a meet & greet after placement (a BBQ or something of that nature) and in lieu of a shower, if you'd like to help with the fees along the way, we set up a crowdfunding page. We are prepared to financially plan for the adoption expenses. The page is for those who want to give toward future Baby Newman where we could use it the most (attorney fees versus a car seat or stroller we already purchased for example).
