Newmarket LGFC & Active Connections Fundraiser

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Denys O Brien and I am undertaking the mammoth task of completing the Quest 12 Beara adventure race taking place on the 28th August 2021 in an attempt to raise much needed funds for Newmarket Ladies Football Club and Active Connections. The aim of my fundraiser is essentially to raise funds so that essential equipment and gear can be funded for by both organisations.

I am the current secretary of Newmarket Ladies Football Club and given the restrictions on fundraising events since March 2020, I have decided to merge my love of adventure racing with that of Gaelic Games and hopefully raise much needed funds for our club so that we can continue to develop our underage talent within the club and continue to provide a valuable outlet, physically and socially for young girls and women throughout our locality. You can read all about our wonderful club on our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

Active Connections is Ireland leading activity-based intervention service It offers a rapid response with particular emphasis avoiding family/foster/residential care home placement break down. The programme is specially designed using a range of therapeutic programmes and outdoor activities to build on the young peoples, families or placements strengths and will aim to address any issue that young person, families or care givers have, such as communication, confidence, responsibility etc…. You can read more about the amazing work that they do "Transforming lives through adventure" on their social media platforms and their website www.activeconnections.com
