Newport's 2023 Christmas Cwtch Appeal

Newport's 2023 Christmas Cwtch appeal is a collaborative community effort, including some amazing local volunteers who help each year, along with Newport Live, Newport City Council Social Services and local businesses. Our aim is to bring a smile, some warmth, and a Christmas Cwtch to those most vulnerable in Newport this festive time.

Your donation will be spent directly on the purchase of warm essentials like socks, gloves, throws, hats, blankets, and hot water bottles as well as gifts including biscuits, chocolates, vouchers and toys. Helping to bring a smile to those who are most vulnerable and in need at this time of year.

This year we’re aiming to help 300 vulnerable children, young people, and families. We aim to buy and source in the region of 1,200 items which will fill our gift bag hampers packed by our volunteers and staff.

The gift bags will be delivered by key workers, social workers, and trusted adults/partners who have established relationships and connections to families, homes, shelters, projects, and hostels in Newport (linked to Social Services – children who are looked after, unaccompanied asylum seeker children, care leavers, 16+ age).
