Newton Rayzor 5th Grade Science Camp

We are the 5th Grade Science Camp Fundraising Team!

Newton Rayzor Elementary is one of the most well-established schools in the district. Known by many in the community for its high academic standards and welcoming environment, Newton Rayzor is one of Denton ISD’s most treasured schools. The school offers the International Baccalaureate program, which has received worldwide acclaim for its intercultural educational curriculum. Newton Rayzor serves a diverse population of students, with 55% of the student population from low-income households.

This March, Newton Rayzor will send the 5th-grade student body to Science Camp at YMCA’s Camp Grady Spruce. Students will spend three days and two nights benefitting from hands-on learning in a natural environment. They will experience archery, horseback riding, boating, and much more. They will hike to Johnson’s Peak and sleep in bunkhouses. Students are responsible for preparing and cleaning the dining hall and raising and lowering the US flag daily. We believe these experiences will build responsibility and community among our students as they learn.

It is our goal that every student attend camp without the burden of financial stress. Our motto states that we believe in “changing the world by learning from each other.” That happens best when we’re all together! Please consider donating to our Camp Scholarship Fund to help us achieve this goal.
