Support for WNC Artists after Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,
On September 27th, Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina, leaving behind a trail of devastation that has deeply impacted our vibrant community, including many studio artists. Homes were damaged, studios were destroyed, livelihoods were left in the rubble, and the death toll is still growing. In the face of this natural disaster we’re reminded of the resilience and creativity that define our artistic community, but we also recognize the urgent need for support.
Many artists in this region rely on their craft for both expression and income. With the destruction brought by the hurricane, countless individuals now face the heartbreaking task of rebuilding their lives, careers, and creative practices from the ground up.
I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will directly benefit artist collectives and support networks in Western North Carolina. Your contributions will help provide:
* Emergency Relief: Immediate financial assistance for artists to address urgent needs such as housing, materials, and supplies.
* Rebuilding Efforts: Support for restoring studios and homes, ensuring that artists can return to their workspaces and continue creating.
* Community Programs: Funding for workshops and gatherings to foster healing and collaboration as our community comes together to recover.
The money raised will be split between several vital initiatives, including:
A GoFundMe to support the 11 artists located in Curve Studios https://www.curvestudios.org/about
The RADA Foundation https://www.riverartsdistrict.com/faqs/
GoFundMe Downtown Spruce Pine (https://www.gofundme.com/f/join-us-in-rebuilding-a-stronger-spruce-pine)
TREATS Studios - Helene Relief for Artists https://www.treatsstudios.org/artist-support-helene
Marshall High Studios https://www.marshallhighstudios.com/about
Every dollar you donate will make a difference. Your generosity will not only help artists rebuild their lives but also restore the cultural fabric of our community. Western North Carolina has a long road ahead, let’s show our solidarity and commitment to supporting those who bring beauty and inspiration to our lives.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Together, we can help our fellow artists rise from the ashes and continue to create the vibrant art that enriches our lives and communities.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
