Next Steps for Jacen - Intensive Therapy at CORE

We are fundraising so Jacen can attend a month of intensive therapy at CORE this summer! Sadly this amazing therapy isn't covered by insurance.
For a month of intensive therapy we need to raise $10,000.
ABOUT:
On August 29th, 2016 our son Jacen was struck by a vehicle and sustained life threatening injuries at just 1yr of age. He sustained a spinal cord injury which left him paralyzed and unable to walk. Spinal cord injuries also come with a lot of secondary problems caused by the initial injury. He is now 5yrs old and happy, as healthy as he can be, and thriving. He is still paralyzed and unable to walk or stand on his own, but he has improved greatly over the past 4yrs and continues to recover with time and lots of physical therapy at C.O.R.E.(the best activity based therapy!). We believe that one day in the future he will be able to walk at least with assistance.
Currently Jacen attends therapy about 2-3hrs a week which is great, but not nearly as much as he needs. We've discussed this with Jacen's therapists and they agree that intensive therapy would be extremely beneficial for him and that we could see a lot of forward progress. Having more time in therapy and doing it every single day will better allow Jacen to build on the improvements he's slowly making. The benefits of his therapy don't stop at the chance of walking. They include improved core strength, improved bone density, improved respiratory function, improved balance, improved muscle mass, fewer health complications, and improved confidence caused by all of that.
Towards the end of 2020 Jacen started becoming more aware that he can't walk. He has decided he wants to try to learn which is excellent because now he puts in more effort at CORE for therapy. He always has fun and works hard but he was too young to really understand that recovery comes from working hard at therapy.
