Ngaoara Limited
Run from Rona’- support the wellbeing of Aboriginal children & adolescents, and help break the intergenerational cycles of disparity.
Long-time friends and supporters of Ngaoara, Minter-Ellison, are holding a virtual run-raiser on the 15th August, 2020. Inspired by the work Ngaoara is doing they have generously offered to use the event as a way to raise funds for the organisation.
Donations will be used to help Ngaoara continue to provide specialist paediatric and social & emotional wellbeing support to Aboriginal children living in regional areas.
How will the funds help?
Outreach Visits
For every $2500 raised, Ngaoara’s clinical team, comprised of GPs, psychologists and paediatricians, will be able to provide a specialist outreach visit to children in regional areas, where adequate access to specialist health care is often difficult. $25,000 is enough to provide a years-worth of visits to one of our partner communities.

Who is Ngaoara?
Ngaoara is an Aboriginal not-for-profit that works with children and their families; communities; service providers; NGOs, and government agencies to improve health, wellbeing and social determinant outcomes for our children and adolescents. Utilising strength-based, trauma-informed approaches, and positive cultural practices, our team of GPs, psychologists and paediatricians provide assessments, care planning and therapeutic responses to help break intergenerational cycles of trauma and disparity.
Ngaoara’s aspiration is that Aboriginal children, and all children, know what it feels like to be to be loved unconditionally, and to feel safe, valued and connected to their culture.

About the run
With races getting postponed or canned all over the place, the folk at Minters-Ellison have taken matters into their own hands. A small group of fit and friendly people will be running 10km, 21km or 42km in Centennial Park, Sydney on Saturday, 15 August, starting at 6am. HOWEVER, due to COVID restrictions, group numbers are limited, so we encourage supporters to join the run in their local area.
The run is listed on Strava:
